About us
About Rupivo
An independent project building free, accurate finance calculators for India — fast, mobile-first, and transparent about every assumption.
How we keep numbers correct
All tax slabs and rates live in a single configuration file, versioned by financial year and verified against the latest Budget. The calculation logic is written as pure functions with an automated test suite, so a wrong number cannot silently slip through. Calculators are based on FY 2025-26 (AY 2026-27) rules.
How we fund this
The calculators are completely free to use with no sign-up required. We sustain the project through an optional Pro upgrade (PDF report exports) and clearly-labelled affiliate placements. Sponsored content never changes your results — accuracy is non-negotiable.
Found an error?
We take accuracy seriously. If a figure looks off or you'd like a calculator we don't have yet, please reach out to us at rupivo.in — we review every report and update the tool if needed.
Our mission
Indian personal finance is full of rules that change every Budget and calculators that hide behind sign-up walls or quietly use outdated rates. Rupivo exists to be the opposite: open, current, and genuinely useful — a tool you can trust for a quick, accurate answer without handing over your email address or paying a subscription fee.
We believe that understanding your own taxes, loan costs, and investment returns should not require a chartered accountant or an expensive software subscription. The information is public. The maths is straightforward. The only thing missing was a reliable, well-designed tool that puts it all in one place — and that is what Rupivo is built to be.
What Rupivo offers
Rupivo currently provides eight free calculators covering the most common personal finance decisions faced by Indian taxpayers and investors:
- Income Tax Calculator — compares the old and new tax regimes side by side for FY 2025-26, applying the correct slabs, the ₹75,000 standard deduction, the Section 87A rebate, marginal relief, surcharge, and 4% cess.
- Capital Gains Tax Calculator — handles STCG and LTCG across equity shares, equity mutual funds, debt mutual funds, property (with the Budget 2024 indexation choice), and gold. Applies the ₹1.25 lakh annual exemption, loss set-off rules, and Section 50AA for debt MFs purchased after April 2023.
- EMI Calculator with Prepayment — calculates the exact monthly instalment for any loan and shows how a lump-sum prepayment reduces your total interest and remaining tenure.
- SIP Calculator with Step-up — projects the maturity value of a systematic investment plan with an optional annual increase in contribution, shown year by year.
- Take-Home Salary Calculator — converts CTC to monthly in-hand salary, accounting for PF, professional tax, gratuity, and estimated TDS under both tax regimes.
- GST Calculator — adds or removes GST at 5%, 12%, 18%, or 28% and shows the CGST and SGST split instantly.
- Fixed Deposit Calculator — computes the maturity amount and total interest for any FD with quarterly compounding.
- Lumpsum Investment Calculator — estimates the future value of a one-time investment with compound annual growth, shown year by year.
Every calculator is updated for the current financial year and will be updated again when the next Budget is announced. All rates are stored in a single verified configuration file — there is no risk of one page using an old rate while another uses the new one.
How the calculators are built
Rupivo is built on Next.js with TypeScript and runs as a statically generated site, which means every page loads instantly from a global CDN with no server round-trips for the calculations themselves. All maths runs entirely in your browser — your income, investment amounts, and tax figures are never sent to any server.
The calculation logic for every tool is written as a pure function — it takes an input, returns an output, and has no side effects. Each function is covered by an automated test suite (Vitest) that runs on every code change. This architecture means a formula error cannot silently go live: the tests catch it first.
Tax rates, slab boundaries, cess percentages, and holding-period thresholds all live in a single data file that is updated when the Finance Act changes them. This is how we ensure consistency across every calculator on the site.
Who is behind Rupivo
Rupivo is developed and maintained by Codynex Technology, a software development company focused on building practical digital tools for the Indian market. The project started from a simple frustration: every income tax calculator we found either used outdated rates, required a login, or buried the result behind ads. We decided to build the one we actually wanted to use.
The site is intentionally independent. We do not partner with any bank, brokerage, or financial institution in a way that influences our calculations. Where affiliate links appear (for example, links to tax-filing services or investment platforms), they are clearly labelled and do not affect the numbers the calculator produces.
Our commitment to accuracy
Finance calculators are YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) tools — a wrong number here is not just annoying, it can lead someone to make a bad financial decision. We take that responsibility seriously. Here is how we try to maintain accuracy:
- Every rate and threshold is sourced directly from the Finance Act, CBDT notifications, or official government circulars — not from secondary sources.
- Each calculator is verified against worked examples from the Income Tax department, SEBI, or AMFI before it is published.
- An automated test suite runs on every code change and will fail if a formula produces a wrong result for any of our test cases.
- We display all key assumptions clearly — the FY, the regime, the holding period, the indexation choice — so you can verify our logic.
- We include a disclaimer on every tool because estimates are not advice and individual situations can differ from standard assumptions.
If you spot an error — a wrong rate, a miscalculation, or a case our tool does not handle correctly — please let us know. We read every report and fix confirmed errors as quickly as possible.
Privacy and data
We do not store any of the numbers you enter into our calculators. All calculations happen in your browser using JavaScript. When you close the tab, your data is gone. We collect anonymous, aggregate analytics (page views, which tools are used) to understand how to improve the site. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
The free tier and Rupivo Pro
All eight calculators are free to use with no sign-up required and no limits on how many times you use them. Rupivo Pro is an optional one-time upgrade (₹199) that unlocks PDF report downloads and removes advertisements. Pro revenue helps cover hosting, development, and the time it takes to keep every calculator updated each Budget season.
We will never put the core calculations behind a paywall. The free tier will always give you accurate, complete results.
